Lauren Kennedy
Lauren Kennedy is one of the brightest young lights of the musical theatre. This Raleigh, NC native has been acclaimed for her luminous acting and her extraordinary vocals. A particular favorite of the new generation of musical theatre composers, Lauren has created roles in new musicals by Matthew Sklar (The Rhythm Club) and Jason Robert Brown (The Last Five Years). Her association with legendary director Trevor Nunn began when she was cast as Betty Schaefer in the national tour of Sunset Boulevard, and continued thrillingly this winter when Lauren was asked to play Nellie Forbush in the Royal National Theatre of London's landmark revival of South Pacific.

Broadway: Sunset Boulevard, starring Glenn Close (Original Cast), Side Show as Daisy Hilton, directed by Robert Longbottom, (Original Cast). Cinderella at The New York City Opera.

American Premieres: Hot Shoe Shuffle directed by David Atkins, Irving Berlin's White Christmas, written and produced by Paul Blake, The Rhythm Club (Helen Hayes Nom.) directed by Eric Schaeffer and The Last Five Years, written by Jason Robert Brown and directed by Daisy Prince.

First National Tour: Sunset Boulevard as Betty Schaefer, Director Trevor Nunn.

Regional Theatre: Florency Vassy in Chess (Alliance Theatre of Atlanta, Helen Hayes Center for the Performing Arts), Eva Peron in Evita (The North Carolina Theatre), Sandy in Grease (St. Louis MUNY).

London: South Pacific, as Nellie Forbush, at The Royal National Theatre, directed by Sir Trevor Nunn.

Recordings: South Pacific (First Night Records), Sunset Boulevard, Side Show, Good News (with The London Philharmonic) and Broadway Sings Paul Simon (Varese Sarabande). Lauren is releasing a solo CD with composer Jason Robert Brown.
